Tether (“we”, “us”) is a habit-streak tracking app for iOS and Android. This page explains what data we collect, why, and how you can access, correct, or delete it. Tether is built and operated by an independent developer under the Phoenix Flow name.
When you sign up, we collect your email address and password (email/password sign-in), or your name, email address, and profile photo (Google Sign-In, via the permissions Google grants us at sign-in). We also generate a short, random friend code for your account so other users can add you as a friend without sharing your email.
The streaks you create, your daily check-ins, your XP/level/badges, and your streak freezes are stored so your progress is saved and can sync across your devices.
If you use friends or competitions, we store your friend connections, the competitions you create or join, and messages posted on a competition’s message board — visible to the other participants in that competition, as you’d expect.
Tether shows ads (banner, interstitial, and optional reward-for-watching ads) through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device and advertising identifiers and usage data to serve and measure ads, and — where required by your location — to request your consent before showing personalized ads. To operate your account and sync your streaks/progress across devices, to support the friends and competitions features, to send transactional email (account confirmation, password reset — see below), and to show and measure ads. We do not sell your personal data.
We use a small number of service providers to run Tether, each acting on our instructions:
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account (see below), your streaks, check-ins, progress, friend connections, and competition activity are permanently deleted straight away — this can’t be undone.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time, either in the app or from the web — see Delete my account. To ask about, correct, or export any data we hold about you, email privacy@mailer.phoenixflow.co.uk.
Tether isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at the address above and we’ll delete it.
If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
